"New College of Osteopathic Medicine to Begin Construction in the West Loop"

Next week, The Community Solution Education System and The Chicago School will join forces to host a groundbreaking event for their newly acquired co-location at 400 S. Jefferson Street in the West Loop of Chicago. This exciting development will also house The Chicago School’s proposed Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine (IllinoisCOM), which is dedicated to integrating mental health education into its curriculum and utilizing cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence.

The building itself was previously the headquarters of Tyson Foods but is now being repurposed into a state-of-the-art facility spanning 247,000 square feet. It is set to open in 2026 and will provide space for approximately 1,800 students, faculty members, and staff from both organizations.

In addition to providing top-notch medical education opportunities, The Chicago School has a larger goal in mind: creating a pipeline of highly skilled physicians who can contribute to economic growth within the city. With this new development expected to generate $1 billion in total economic impact over the next decade or so, it’s clear that IllinoisCOM will be an important catalyst for revitalizing downtown Chicago.
