Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort recently completed an extensive multimillion-dollar renovation project, marking a significant transformation of the oceanfront property. The 219-room resort, located at 1200 N. Ocean Blvd. in Pompano Beach, underwent a phased renovation that began in September 2024 and continued over a nine-month period—all while remaining open to guests.
The first phase of renovations focused on upgrading 100 guest rooms in the North Tower, redesigning the resort’s main lobby, and adding several new amenities. Highlights include a new resort-style pool and hot tub, as well as two new dining venues: The Citrus Club, an all-day café, and The Kester, which offers a fresh culinary experience.
Miami-based design firm Urban Robot Associates spearheaded the renovation. The remaining 119 rooms in the South Tower are scheduled to be updated later this year.
Enhancements extend beyond the guestrooms and dining options. The resort now features a 3,000-square-foot pool deck complete with private cabanas, fire pit lounges, and full food and beverage service available from the on-site Tiki Bar. Event and meeting spaces were also expanded and upgraded, with more than 8,000 square feet now available, including an oceanfront terrace and a modernized ballroom.
The property is jointly owned by Key International and Wexford Real Estate Investors, who acquired the resort in 2021 for $54 million. The completion of this renovation marks a new chapter in the resort’s offerings, aiming to enhance guest experience and solidify its status as a premier destination in South Florida.
