Leadership changes and leasing activity across Florida are signaling continued investment in both talent and workplace strategies for commercial real estate and construction firms active in the state.
Driftwood Capital has reorganized its investment leadership, naming David Resnick as Partner and co-Chief Investment Officer and elevating David Steiner, a co-founder of the firm’s credit platform, to serve alongside him as co-CIO. The Coral Gables-based firm also added Andrew Dykeman as Senior Vice President of Equity Investments. The new structure brings Driftwood’s equity and credit businesses under a unified leadership team, with a stated focus on larger and more complex transactions across lifestyle and luxury hospitality, mixed-use projects, and large-scale development.
Construction firm Robins & Morton advanced Andrew Smith to project director in Fort Lauderdale. Smith, who joined the company in 2022 and has 24 years of construction industry experience, holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture Technology from the New York Institute of Technology. At Robins & Morton, he has led one of the company’s largest assignments, the Gloria Drummond Patient Tower at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, and continues to support multiple projects in South Florida, reflecting ongoing healthcare-related construction activity in the region.
Colliers expanded its South Florida platform with the addition of Scott Allen as Senior Vice President, based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. Allen brings more than 27 years of commercial real estate experience, with a focus on tenant representation and strategic advisory services for clients operating both in South Florida and nationally. His role underscores continued demand for advisory services as occupiers reassess space needs.
Hoar Construction reported another leadership move, promoting Brandon Smith to director of division operations for its Florida Division as the firm grows its portfolio across the state. Smith, who joined Hoar in 2014, has overseen projects for several Fortune 100 companies, including Apple, Amazon and Universal. In his new role, he will oversee project staffing and provide operational oversight from preconstruction and estimating through project closeout across the division’s portfolio.
On the leasing front, Hines and Urban Street Development reported the first office leases at T3FAT Village. GXO Logistics, Inc. has committed to a 35,000 square foot regional office that will support growth for its Americas and Asia Pacific operations and complement existing offices in Dallas and High Point. CBI Workplace Solutions, a workplace design and furniture firm, will relocate its Fort Lauderdale office from Las Olas Boulevard to T3FAT Village. These commitments mark initial office occupancy at the project and illustrate the ongoing effort by tenants to align office locations with evolving operational and workplace strategies in Fort Lauderdale.
