Avondale Green-Lights Medical, Housing, and Retail Project

Avondale, a rapidly growing West Valley town, recently approved a large commercial development project called The District at Crystal Springs. Located at the southwest corner of McDowell Road and Avondale Boulevard, this mixed-use development will feature 268 townhomes on 23 acres; 216 units of multifamily housing for adults 55 years and older on 6 acres; retail or hotel space on 7 acres; and an 8 acre hospital within the city’s designated health-technology corridor. Fifield & Sparrow Partners are leading the development effort while Encompass Health is responsible for constructing the hospital. Last month, after receiving approval from its planning commission, Avondale City Council rezoned property to accommodate this new planned area development project.
