Avondale, Arizona is set to receive a hefty commercial development at the southwest corner of McDowell Road and Avondale Boulevard. The project, called The District at Crystal Springs, was recently approved by the Avondale City Council and will include up to 268 townhomes on 23 acres as well as 216 units of multifamily housing for adults 55 years or older on 6 acres. Additionally, 7 acres have been designated for commercial development such as retail or a hotel while 8 acres are earmarked for building a hospital within the city’s health-technology corridor. Phoenix Business Journal reports that Fifield and Sparrow Partners are leading this mixed-use project with Encompass Health overseeing construction of the hospital build.
