Experienced in-house talent returning to lead a multiregional office portfolio underscores how owners are prioritizing operational execution and asset-level strategy in core markets.

KBS has brought back Katy Grober to serve as vice president and investment manager overseeing the firm’s Mid-Atlantic region. The company announced that Grober, who previously worked in several positions within KBS’ investment management group, has rejoined the platform in an expanded leadership role focused on a multistate office portfolio.

Marc DeLuca, KBS CEO and regional president for the Eastern U.S., noted that Grober played a significant part in the firm’s prior Mid-Atlantic investment management efforts. He said her experience will directly support performance across the portfolio, underscoring the importance of continuity and institutional knowledge for KBS’ office holdings.

In her current position, Grober is responsible for a portfolio of office assets spread across Northern Virginia, suburban Maryland, suburban Philadelphia and Chicago. Her remit includes KBS’ largest asset in Chicago, Accenture Tower, positioning her at the center of the firm’s strategy for several key business and government-oriented office markets.

Grober’s responsibilities encompass advancing asset-level strategy, overseeing operating performance and driving execution across the portfolio. That work covers leasing activity, capital planning initiatives and long-term value creation for the assets under management, with an emphasis on aligning property operations and investment decisions with KBS’ broader objectives.

Grober originally joined KBS in 2013 as a regional administrator and subsequently moved through a series of investment-focused roles. Over time, she served as an investment analyst, investment associate and senior investment associate, gaining experience across a range of underwriting, asset management and portfolio support functions.

During her earlier tenure, Grober worked closely with DeLuca and with Allen Aldridge, senior vice president of acquisitions and co-director of investment management. That collaboration provided exposure to both transaction activity and ongoing investment management responsibilities within KBS’ platform.

Grober left the firm in 2024 to pursue additional real estate experience outside KBS. After that period, she returned to the company in early 2026 and has now stepped into the vice president, investment manager role for the Mid-Atlantic region. Her rehiring formalizes KBS’ decision to draw on a prior team member familiar with the firm’s processes, assets and leadership as it continues to manage a geographically diverse office portfolio.
