WS Development Acquires Pittsburgh’s Iconic Station Square
WS Development has officially acquired Station Square, one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic and historic destinations. The 646,000-square-foot mixed-use district, located on the city’s South Shore, spans 27.5 acres along the Monongahela River and has been a vital part of Pittsburgh’s waterfront transformation since the 1970s.
Built on the site of the former Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad, Station Square maintains strong roots in the city’s industrial past, blending historical preservation with urban redevelopment.
“Station Square has long been one of Pittsburgh’s most distinctive places,” said Jeremy Sclar, Chairman and CEO of WS Development. “We’re inspired by its history and excited to build on that foundation as we imagine a future that sees this one-of-a-kind, mixed-use destination reach its full potential in serving the community and bringing exciting partners to Pittsburgh.”
WS Development, based in Massachusetts, is a prominent mixed-use developer with a portfolio that includes 24 million square feet of existing space and an additional nine million square feet currently under development.
