**BNY Renews 205,000-Square-Foot Office Lease at One Boston Place**
BNY, a prominent financial services firm, has renewed its 205,000-square-foot office lease at One Boston Place, located at 201 Washington Street in Downtown Boston. The lease renewal was highlighted in CBRE’s third-quarter market report.
As a longstanding tenant at the 800,000-square-foot office tower—co-owned by Nuveen and La Caisse—BNY remains one of the key occupiers in Boston’s Central Business District (CBD). This renewal marks the second-largest office lease transaction in Boston for Q3, trailing only behind Hasbro’s sublease of 264,395 square feet at 400 Summer Street for its new headquarters.
Together, the BNY and Hasbro agreements pushed total leasing activity in Downtown Boston to 1.91 million square feet for the third quarter, representing the area’s highest quarterly total since 2019—prior to the onset of the pandemic. Even excluding these major deals, leasing volume for Q3 still reflected a more than 33% increase over the previous quarter.
Leasing for One Boston Place is managed by Newmark’s Jason Cameron, Gil Dailey, and Dave Martel.
