**Kroger and H-E-B Expand Footprint in DFW Metroplex**
Kroger Co. is investing heavily in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with plans to construct four new stores across the metroplex. The grocery retailer is spending approximately $40 million on each store, amounting to a total investment of around $160 million. The new locations will be in Fort Worth (two locations), Little Elm, and Anna.
Each store will span about 120,000 square feet and is expected to contribute significantly to the local economy by creating roughly 1,200 regional jobs. Kroger currently ranks No. 27 on the Fortune 500 list, generating approximately $147 billion in revenue and maintaining a market capitalization exceeding $44 billion.
Meanwhile, H-E-B is making strategic moves of its own with the recent purchase of land in Pilot Point, a northern suburb situated between Dallas and Sherman. While the Texas-based grocer has confirmed the land acquisition, a timeline for the construction of a new store has not yet been announced.
Both moves represent continued expansion efforts by major grocery chains to strengthen their presence in the North Texas market.
