ATCO Properties & Management has secured a $66 million refinancing deal for Kinship, the first multifamily development within Camp North End—a 76-acre adaptive reuse project situated just north of Uptown Charlotte.
The financing was closed through a three-year bridge loan provided by Benefit Street Partners. Mark Gallinaro of WelcomeLend facilitated and secured the loan. Investment partners in the Kinship development include opportunity zone funds sponsored by Tishman, Altes Capital, and Blueprint Local.
Kinship is comprised of 301 apartments across two newly constructed buildings located at 110 and 115 Razades Way, in the southwest section of the Camp North End campus. Leasing began in late 2024, and the community is currently about 35% leased.
The development offers a host of interior and exterior amenities, as well as seven live-work units located at the base of Kinship West. These units provide residents the option to operate retail storefronts directly from their homes, blurring the line between residential and commercial space.
Overall, ATCO has transformed 750,000 square feet of former industrial space into a vibrant mix of Class A office, multifamily, and retail uses as part of the broader Camp North End redevelopment effort.
