**JV Completes Nation’s Largest Hotel Project in 34 Months**

A joint venture between Mortenson Construction and McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. has successfully completed the Gaylord Pacific Resort and Convention Center, a nearly two-million square-foot development recognized as the largest hotel project in the United States. Located at the Chula Vista Bayfront in Chula Vista, California, the 22-story Marriott resort features 1,600 hotel rooms, an 800,000-square-foot convention center, a nine-story parking structure, and a 4.25-acre waterpark.

Key project participants included RIDA Development, the City of Chula Vista, the Port of San Diego, Marriott International, and architectural firm HKS. Construction took place at 1000 H Street in Chula Vista, and was completed in just 34 months.
