**Home Depot Expands Footprint in Maricopa County with Buckeye Commons Purchase**

Home Depot has acquired 11 acres within the Buckeye Commons shopping center for $7.7 million, marking another step in its rapidly growing presence across the Phoenix metro area.

The new location will be situated at the southeast corner of Verrado Way and Interstate 10, where Home Depot plans to construct a 137,347-square-foot store. The retailer recently applied for a building permit valued at $11.6 million for the site, located at 20410 W. Roosevelt Street. The site is being developed by Sunbelt Investment Holdings Inc., which also served as the seller in the land transaction.

Buckeye Commons is projected to encompass approximately 410,000 square feet of retail space upon completion. Home Depot will join fellow retail giant Costco at the shopping center.

This Buckeye location adds to a surge of recent activity by the home improvement chain in the region. Home Depot has already announced plans to open a new 109,651-square-foot warehouse store in Surprise later this year and has recently opened another store in the city of Maricopa at the Stonegate Shopping Center, near Stonegate Road and the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway.

The expansion continues to reinforce Home Depot’s strategic investment in high-growth areas throughout Maricopa County.
