**Selig Enterprises to Redevelop Boca Raton Retail Center with 341 Apartments**

Selig Enterprises has announced plans to redevelop a retail site at 1401 W. Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton by constructing a 341-unit apartment complex. As part of the redevelopment, the company will also expand and improve the existing Publix supermarket on the property.

Utilizing Florida’s Live Local Act, Selig Enterprises was able to move forward without requiring any zoning changes. The law allows developers to bypass local zoning restrictions if at least 40% of the residential units are designated as workforce housing for individuals earning up to 120% of the area’s median income.

The property, known as Palmetto Park Square, was originally developed in 1982 and includes 196,200 square feet of retail space, anchored by a 28,000-square-foot Publix. The site previously housed a nearly 100,000-square-foot Kmart, which closed in 2019. Selig Enterprises has owned the property since it was first developed.

The redevelopment will be executed in two phases and is expected to take approximately three years to complete.
