Key International is transforming a previously distressed property into a thriving development. The Waterways Apartments and Marina project, located at 12000 Gandy Blvd. N, will encompass 39 acres and feature 470 apartments, 150 boat slips, an impressive waterfront restaurant spanning over 8,000 square feet, as well as several other amenities.
According to the Tampa Business Journal’s report in late December of last year (2024), site preparations have already begun with vertical construction set to commence in May. MSA Architects from Miami have designed the project while Central Site Development based in Brandon will handle infrastructure work. Strategic Group out of Miami has been chosen to oversee vertical construction.
In addition to the standard amenities one would expect from a new multifamily development such as this one by Key International; they are also planning on providing two pickleball courts along with tennis court facilities for residents’ enjoyment. Furthermore basketball court and playground areas are also included within their plans.
Originally known as Snug Harbor when first conceived; financing issues during the Great Recession caused delays which ultimately led it being foreclosed upon back in2011 before Key International acquired it for $19 million just last year (2022).
