Key International is revitalizing a previously distressed property and transforming it into a thriving community. The project, known as Waterways Apartments and Marina, will encompass 39 acres at 12000 Gandy Blvd. N and feature 470 apartments, 150 boat slips, an 8,000-square-foot waterfront restaurant, and various other amenities.
According to the Tampa Business Journal’s report in late April of this year (2024), site preparations have already begun with vertical construction set to commence in May. MSA Architects from Miami has been tasked with designing the project while Central Site Development based in Brandon will handle infrastructure work. Strategic Group out of Miami will lead the vertical construction.
In addition to standard features found at most new multifamily developments such as fitness centers or pools; Key International plans on including unique offerings like two pickleball courts along with one tennis court each for volleyball and basketball plus a playground area.
Originally called Snug Harbor when first conceived; financing issues during the Great Recession caused delays until Key International purchased it for $19 million back in early-2022 after its foreclosure six years prior (2011). This exciting development marks another milestone for Key International as they continue their efforts towards revitalizing communities across Florida.
