"Tampa Medical Office Buildings Receive $145M Investment from Health System"

BayCare Health System has recently acquired three medical office buildings in Tampa from Highwood Properties. According to the Tampa Business Journal, BayCare intends to use these properties for consolidating services and accommodating future growth plans, such as expanding its BayCare Medical Group physician practice.

The newly acquired buildings include LakePointe One, LakePointe Two, and Spectrum. Additionally, two parking garages located west of St. Joseph’s are now under BayCare’s ownership.

Highwoods is a partner in the Midtown Tampa joint venture and also owns several other office properties throughout the greater Tampa Bay area. Currently occupying 120,000 square feet in LakePointe One is Fisher Investments while Alvarez & Marsal occupies 30,000 square feet in LakePointe Two.

In recent months, BayCare has been actively acquiring various properties including land in Pasco County and a former Barnes & Noble store in Carrollwood. They are also seeking rezoning for a former CVS location to establish a freestanding emergency room facility.
