Construction has begun on The Continental Block in San Antonio, a project by Weston Urban. This district will include the restoration of The Continental Hotel building at 332 West Commerce St., as well as several historic homes on the site. Additionally, a 16-story affordable apartment tower will be built. By 2025, there are plans for a total of 318 apartment units between the tower and upper floors of the hotel.
According to reports from the San Antonio Business Journal, retail space will occupy the ground floor of the former hotel while office and retail spaces will be located in reworked buildings such as Arana and De La Garza House which is set to undergo rehabilitation before being turned over to Bexar County.
