"Verizon Extends Lease for 172,000 Square Feet at Data Center in Lower Manhattan"

According to a report from the New York Business Journal, Verizon Communication Inc. has signed the largest lease in Lower Manhattan during the third quarter of 2024. The telecommunications company renewed their lease for a data center at Hudson Interxchange, located at 60 Hudson St. in Tribeca, which spans over 172,119 square feet. This transaction was reported in Newmark’s third-quarter Manhattan Office Market Overview.

The deal surpassed StubHub’s sublease at 4 World Trade Center by almost 70,000 square feet and is owned by Cordiant Digital Infrastructure. The building has been around for nearly a century and was previously used as Western Union’s headquarters before being converted into a data center.

Verizon currently occupies about one-fifth of the property along with over three hundred other companies including top carriers, internet businesses, media firms and software-as-a-service providers according to reports from the Business Journal.

Overall leasing activity in Lower Manhattan reached approximately 1.1 million square feet during Q3 which marks an increase of nearly half compared to previous quarters according to Newmark.
