During the “Getting Deals Done” panel at Connect Orange County 2024, Gary Bechtel, CEO of Red Oak Capital Holdings, shared that this year has been more favorable for transactions compared to last year. However, Bechtel and other commercial real estate experts who spoke at the event provided honest evaluations of the current market.
Despite seeing an increase in transaction activity from 2023, this market still presents its own difficulties. Taylor Arnett, SVP of acquisitions at CapRock Partners during the “SoCal Industrial Market” discussion (pictured above), stated that a few years ago they couldn’t construct industrial buildings fast enough. But now developers are hesitant to start new projects unless they were initiated within the past nine to twelve months.
