“Surf Park Replaced by Warehouses”

"Surf Park Replaced by Warehouses"

As new surf parks continue to emerge in Phoenix, one that had previously closed down is making a comeback. The former location of Big Surf in Tempe is being transformed into an active industrial hub. Construction has begun on The Next Wave, a three-building spec industrial park spanning 690,000 square feet at 1480 N. McClintock.

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Overton Moore Properties has already started grading and plans for full construction to begin by Thanksgiving. Public records show that the company purchased the parcel for nearly $50 million.

The listing brokers for The Next Wave are John Werstler, Cooper Fratt and Tanner Ferrandi from CBRE Group Inc., who say that while tenants of all sizes can be accommodated at this park, it is best suited for those seeking under 200,000 square feet of space.

HPA Architecture will serve as the architect for this project with Layton Construction acting as general contractor.
