Raleigh is eager to join in on this trend.

Recently, the city received an application for rezoning in order to establish the Raleigh Sports and Entertainment District. According to reports from The Raleigh Business Journal, this proposal outlines four subdistricts within close proximity to the former PNC Arena site that will include 4,000 residential units and up to 3 million square feet of non-residential space such as hotels.
