Evergreen Affordable Housing Project in Indiana Completes $30M Investment

Evergreen Real Estate Group has recently finished construction on Green Oaks of Goshen, a 120-unit assisted living community for low-income seniors in Goshen, Indiana. The project was completed by Evergreen Construction Company, a division of Evergreen Real Estate Group. Situated at 282 Johnston Street and costing $30 million, the four-story building replaces an empty three-acre lot on the city’s north side near existing retail and a Salvation Army building.

Gardant Management Solutions, based in Bourbonnais Illinois operates the community while Affordable Housing Partners provided LIHTC equity. The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority also authorized Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to support this project with debt financing being provided through tax-exempt bonds issued by Piper Sandler.

This is Evergreen’s first affordable assisted living development in Indiana with another currently under development within the state as well.
