ARCO Design/Build has begun work on a 355,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in Hagerstown, Maryland, for Jamison Door Company and its parent company, BMP Group. The project recently reached the groundbreaking milestone, formally launching construction of the new production facility.
The building is planned as the initial component of a larger North American manufacturing campus that will span 58 acres when fully built out. This first phase represents a significant commitment to expanding manufacturing activity in the Hagerstown area and is intended to enhance the region’s industrial base.
The new facility is designed to provide Jamison Door Company with additional production capacity, updated technology, and modern industrial infrastructure. In addition to supporting the company’s existing operations, the project will introduce U.S.-based manufacturing capability for selected European brands within the BMP Group portfolio, bringing more of the company’s production footprint into the North American market.
Construction of the initial 355,000-square-foot phase is anticipated to conclude in the first quarter of 2028. According to the development timeline, manufacturing operations at the facility are expected to commence shortly after construction is completed, aligning production start-up closely with delivery of the building.
The Hagerstown project is conceived as only the first step in BMP Group’s broader campus plan. Planning efforts are already underway for a second phase of development on the site, which is expected to accommodate further expansion of BMP Group’s manufacturing presence in North America. While specific details of the subsequent phase have not yet been disclosed in the available information, the ongoing planning activity underscores the company’s long-term commitment to the location.
As the initial anchor of a multi-phase campus, the new advanced manufacturing facility is positioned to play a central role in Jamison Door Company’s growth strategy and BMP Group’s effort to increase its North American production capabilities, while contributing to the continued evolution of Hagerstown’s industrial landscape.
