RD Management is transforming the former University Mall into a hub for healthcare, science, and technology. According to Commercial Edge, RD has selected JLL’s Central Florida Healthcare Practice Group to lease the health-care, life science and office components of their 100-acre mixed-use development in Tampa’s Uptown District known as RITHM.
Once completed, RITHM (short for Research, Innovation, Technology,
Humanity & Medicine) will span over 7 million square feet and include thousands of residential units. The project already boasts a variety of completed developments such as multifamily housing and Sprouts Farmers Market – a natural food grocery store occupying 23,000 square feet that opened in August 2023.
Construction on an extended-stay Marriott hotel is set to begin early this year along with the newly constructed University Square Drive extension which will provide direct access from RITHM to the nearby USF campus.
