FAA Approves Dallas Highrise Construction Plans

UDR has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration for its proposed 25-story multifamily building in Dallas near Turtle Creek. The agency has determined that the project, designed by Dallas-based architecture firm HKS Inc., will not interfere with air navigation.

Construction of the 308-foot tower is expected to begin in June 2025 and be completed by December 2026. UDR still needs to complete the permit process with Dallas before beginning construction.

The site was purchased by UDR for $90.2 million in 2022.

In addition to UDR’s project, neighboring developments are also underway. Hanover Co. is currently constructing a 21-story residential tower next door and has plans for a second building that could reach up to 20 stories high. Validus Development Corp.’s plans include a vacant corner lot north of Hood and Brown streets where they plan to build a towering structure reaching up to30 stories high.

This recent FAA approval marks an exciting milestone for development projects in this area of Dallas as it continues its growth into one of Texas’ most desirable locations.
