Tuli Lodge, a Seattle-based social sauna concept, has opened its third pop-up location at Lake Union Piers, a waterfront property owned by Vulcan Real Estate at 901 Fairview Ave N. in Seattle, Washington. The new pop-up adds another experiential wellness use to the redeveloped mixed-use destination along the Lake Union shoreline.
The concept traces its roots to founder Hannah Goldstein’s trip to Norway, which inspired a community-oriented approach to sauna use as an accessible wellness activity. Tuli Lodge first took shape through a series of temporary installations around Seattle, including recent stints at Old Stove Ship Canal and a six-month residency at Pier 62. Each activation is designed to position sauna sessions as a social, affordable experience rather than a niche or luxury-only amenity.
At Lake Union Piers, Tuli Lodge’s latest pop-up is programmed to extend dwell time and encourage gathering along the waterfront. The setup is planned to feature lounge chairs, firepits, and games, complementing the property’s broader mix of food, beverage, and retail offerings. By emphasizing communal spaces and informal gathering areas, the concept aligns with the project’s focus on activating the waterfront throughout the day and into the evening.
Lake Union Piers itself has undergone a significant repositioning led by Vulcan Real Estate. Abbott Construction partnered with Vulcan and design firm Miller Hull Partnership to renovate the property, which was formerly known as Chandler’s Cove and H.C. Henry Pier. The redevelopment work has transformed the site into a contemporary waterfront destination while retaining its pier-oriented character and adjacency to the lake.
The property now totals approximately 60,000 square feet across four buildings. Of that footprint, about 40,000 square feet is dedicated to food, drink, and shopping concepts, underscoring the project’s emphasis on retail, dining, and experience-driven uses. The remaining space supports complementary uses that help frame the overall visitor experience. Vulcan originally purchased Lake Union Piers in 2000, setting the stage for its longer-term repositioning efforts.
The addition of Tuli Lodge’s pop-up sauna reflects the broader shift toward experiential and wellness-focused retail activations at mixed-use properties. By layering in a flexible, seasonally adaptable concept, Lake Union Piers continues to refine its tenant and user mix while reinforcing its brand as a community-oriented waterfront destination.
