A 17-story River North office tower in Chicago, previously housing Google’s Chicago office and recently vacated by WeWork due to financial struggles during the pandemic, is up for sale potentially below loan value. Cushman & Wakefield has been hired to source a buyer for the 250,000-square-foot space which includes several stories of office space, a ground floor lobby and below ground parking. The Alter Group completed the building in 2000 and are working with Bank of America to explore a sale of this property. This unfortunate trend is seen across several recent Chicago property listings according to Crain’s Business Journal .
