Performance apparel company Rhone has committed to a 40,000-square-foot headquarters lease at 300 Atlantic Street, an office property owned by RFR in Stamford, CT. The full-floor lease will serve as the brand’s primary office hub and is designed to accommodate the company as it continues to scale its operations and workforce. More than 150 employees are expected to occupy the new headquarters space once the move is complete.
Rhone, founded in Fairfield County in 2014 by brothers Nate and Ben Checketts, has grown from a local startup into a nationally recognized performance apparel brand. The company has expanded its reach across the United States, and the new Stamford headquarters reflects its ongoing business expansion and the need for a larger, modern office footprint. The decision to locate at 300 Atlantic aligns the brand with a prominent office address in the city.
The new lease gives Rhone control of the top two floors at 300 Atlantic, positioning the company in a highly visible location within the building. Securing the upper floors provides the tenant with a consolidated headquarters layout and the ability to shape the workspace around its operational and cultural priorities. The space is expected to support both corporate functions and future hiring as the firm continues to grow its national brand presence.
RFR highlighted the strategic fit between the two organizations in announcing the lease. AJ Camhi, executive vice president and director of leasing at RFR, noted that Rhone’s principles and emphasis on best-in-class product align closely with RFR’s own brand standards. He also emphasized the collaborative process between Rhone and the ownership and leasing teams in tailoring the headquarters space to the tenant’s goals and ongoing success.
On the tenant side, Christian Bangert of Newmark represented Rhone in the lease transaction, advising the company on its headquarters requirement and negotiations at 300 Atlantic. RFR was represented in the transaction by its in-house leasing executives AJ Camhi, JoAnn McGrath, and Rob Weller, who worked alongside a Newmark team of James Ritman, Brian Carcarterra, and Ben Goldstein. The dual involvement of Newmark on both sides of the deal underscores the firm’s role in the Stamford office leasing market.
The headquarters lease underscores Rhone’s long-term commitment to Fairfield County, where the company was originally founded, and reinforces Stamford’s role as a base for growing consumer and apparel brands. While financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the 40,000-square-foot commitment and planned occupancy by more than 150 employees indicate a meaningful presence within the building and the broader Stamford office market.
