Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development have selected Reeves CMC Venture to honor the community’s history as Black Broadway and center of African American business, arts, and entertainment by redeveloping Washington DC’s Frank D. Reeves Center of Municipal Affairs site. The project will include a new NAACP headquarters, municipal office space, a hotel, affordable housing units as well as market-rate housing. Cultural institutions such Alvin Ailey American Dance School or Washington Jazz Arts Institute will be featured in addition to Carla Hall’s restaurant. Construction is expected to start in 2025.
