RCG Ventures, LLC has closed its latest vehicle, RCG Ventures Fund VIII, with $515 million in capital commitments, finishing above its original target. The vertically integrated firm, which serves as the real estate investment arm of Argonne Capital Group, focuses on multi-tenant retail real estate assets. According to the company, the fund drew strong backing from a broad mix of new and existing institutional investors.
Michael Klump, founder and chairman of both RCG and Argonne, described the closing of Fund VIII as a reflection of investor support for the platform and strategy. He noted that the firm views its extensive operating experience in multi-tenant retail, combined with a vertically integrated structure and long-standing industry relationships, as central to its ability to identify and execute opportunities on behalf of investors.
The Fund VIII close follows a period of heightened activity across the RCG platform. The firm recently completed the previously announced acquisition of a $1.7 billion multi-tenant retail portfolio from Global Net Lease, Inc. That transaction more than doubled RCG’s footprint in the multi-tenant retail segment, expanding the company’s exposure to a diversified set of retail assets.
Fund VIII is already active in the market. To date, the vehicle has completed nine acquisitions in key markets across the United States, according to RCG. In addition, the fund is under contract on another five investments, underscoring an active deployment pipeline as capital is put to work across the firm’s target property types.
RCG emphasizes that its integrated platform allows the firm to manage the full investment lifecycle for multi-tenant retail assets, from sourcing and underwriting through execution. The combination of Fund VIII’s equity capital and the expanded portfolio acquired from Global Net Lease positions the company to continue pursuing opportunities in the multi-tenant retail segment at scale.
The company highlighted a recent acquisition, Holiday Centre in Monroeville, PA, as an example of assets brought into the portfolio during this recent wave of activity. While specific property-level details were not disclosed, the firm identified the shopping center as a representative investment for its multi-tenant retail strategy.
RCG’s latest fund close and recent acquisitions suggest a continued focus on aggregating and operating multi-tenant retail properties across U.S. markets, backed by institutional capital seeking exposure to this retail subsector. The firm did not disclose additional terms of Fund VIII or specific investment targets beyond its stated emphasis on multi-tenant retail assets.
