**Publix Set to Build $135M Cold Storage Facility in Jacksonville**

Publix Super Markets is moving forward with plans to construct a massive 369,045-square-foot cold storage logistics hub in Jacksonville, Florida. The $135 million facility, designed for frozen foods, will be built by Gray Construction. A newly secured building permit now allows construction to begin on the project, which will rise on a 42-acre site located at 10132 General Avenue. Publix originally purchased the property in 2012 for $3.07 million.

This new distribution center marks a significant step in Publix’s broader strategy to enhance its supply chain operations and distribution capabilities throughout Northeast Florida. As the grocer continues to grow its Florida presence, increased logistics support is seen as key to maintaining service levels and meeting demand.

In addition to the Jacksonville warehouse, Publix is also expanding its retail footprint in the region. The company has plans to open one of its largest stores in the state — a 55,701-square-foot supermarket with an attached liquor store — located within the SilverLeaf master-planned community in St. Johns County.

Publix is making further investments in specialized infrastructure, including a $30 million central fill pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in St. Johns County. That facility is expected to be completed in 2026 as part of the company’s ongoing diversification and supply chain innovation efforts.
