A branded, full-service hotel integrated into a large mixed-use plan signals continued investment focus on experiential districts, reinforcing demand for hospitality tied to entertainment and residential density.

OCVIBE, the 100-acre mixed-use district planned around the Honda Center in Anaheim, has revealed plans for SENA, a new hotel that will mark the first property in Marriott’s Autograph Collection portfolio in the city. The hotel is expected to open in 2029 and is planned with more than 300 keys, positioning it as a significant hospitality component within the broader OCVIBE master plan. SENA will also be the first hotel within the OCVIBE development.

According to OCVIBE, SENA is being conceived as both a standalone destination and a lodging hub that connects guests to the retail, residential, office, and entertainment offerings that are envisioned for the district. The hotel will feature a signature restaurant from Chef José Andrés, adding a recognized culinary brand to the project. Hospitality and guest service experiences at the property are expected to be led by Sage Hospitality Group, aligning the hotel with a dedicated hospitality platform.

Dan Young, executive director of development at OCVIBE, said the collaboration among Marriott’s Autograph Collection, Rockwell Group, José Andrés Group, and Sage Hospitality Group is intended to create a differentiated hotel experience within the local market. He described SENA as a property designed to combine design, dining, hospitality, and live experiences, and to serve as a gateway into the larger OCVIBE environment.

The OCVIBE master plan calls for a mix of uses surrounding Honda Center, with the intent to integrate public spaces, residential, commercial, and entertainment elements. Plans include approximately 20 acres of parks and public spaces, connected walking trails, and public art, providing an open space framework around the development. The project is also expected to bring more than 2,000 residences to the area, indicating a substantial housing component alongside its commercial uses.

In addition to residential and hospitality components, the OCVIBE plan includes more than 35 dining experiences, office space, and three entertainment venues. These elements are designed to support an active environment throughout the day and into the evening, with food and beverage, workplace, and entertainment uses located within the planned district. The addition of SENA as the first hotel within OCVIBE is positioned as an early anchor for the hospitality offering within the project and as a branded hotel entry for Anaheim within the Autograph Collection portfolio.
