AmTrustRE has executed a new lease with the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission for 39,000 square feet at 250 Broadway, where the agency will establish its next headquarters. The Taxi and Limousine Commission plans to take occupancy in the first quarter of 2027, marking a scheduled relocation of its administrative functions into the office property.
Jonathan Bennett, president of AmTrustRE, noted that the agreement builds on an existing relationship between the firm and the City of New York, which spans multiple leases across the company’s portfolio. He emphasized that the new commitment at 250 Broadway extends this long-standing partnership with the municipal tenant base.
Bennett also pointed to ongoing investment in 250 Broadway as part of AmTrustRE’s broader strategy for the property. He described the building as benefiting from a strong location, updated infrastructure, and characteristics that continue to resonate with institutional-caliber office tenants such as the Taxi and Limousine Commission.
Leasing representation on the landlord side included both in-house and third-party professionals. AmTrustRE was represented internally by Anne Holker, while a CBRE team of Brad Gerla, Michael Rizzo, and Alex Benisatto also acted as landlord brokers for the transaction. On the tenant side, the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission was represented by Gus Field of Cushman & Wakefield.
The lease provides AmTrustRE with a sizable public-sector tenant committing to a defined block of space within 250 Broadway and further aligns the building with government and institutional occupancy. For the Taxi and Limousine Commission, the move will consolidate its headquarters functions at the property once the space is ready for occupancy in early 2027.
While the specific lease economics, term, and ownership details of 250 Broadway were not disclosed, the transaction underscores the ongoing role of city agencies as demand drivers for office space tied to civic and administrative activity.
