IMC Construction, described as the largest minority-owned contractor in the United States, is extending its footprint into the Washington, D.C. region with a new regional hub in Bethesda, Maryland. The move brings the firm directly into the DMV market as it looks to support clients across the broader metropolitan area.
The new regional presence follows recent work IMC has undertaken for clients including Merck and Charles River Laboratories. Those assignments, focused on large corporate and laboratory users, have helped position the company to pursue similar project types as it ramps up operations in and around the nation's capital.
The Bethesda hub will be located at 6903 Rockledge Drive. From this location, IMC plans to serve clients throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia, giving the firm a single base of operations to coordinate work across the region. The office is being structured as a full regional team rather than a satellite outpost, underscoring the company's intention to build a lasting presence.
Leadership for the new office has already been named. Dan Baker will serve as Vice President, providing executive oversight for regional operations. He will be joined by Pavlo Villhauer as Project Executive, who is expected to guide project delivery and execution, and by Business Development Manager Debbie Jones, who will focus on cultivating and expanding client relationships in the area.
Michael Lloyd, President and CEO of IMC Construction, framed the expansion as a response to opportunities in the Washington metropolitan area. He noted that the company viewed the region as offering significant potential, while emphasizing that assembling the appropriate leadership and project team from the outset was central to its strategy for entering the market.
The Bethesda location builds on IMC's broader regional structure, which already includes established regional headquarters in New Jersey and Delaware. With the addition of the DMV hub, the contractor is creating a network of offices along the Mid-Atlantic corridor, intended to align with existing and prospective client needs.
By opening the Rockledge Drive office with a defined leadership group and a track record of work for major corporate and laboratory users, IMC Construction is setting up a platform to pursue future assignments across Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia. The expansion underscores the firm's continued growth and the role of minority-owned contractors in delivering large-scale projects in one of the country's most active institutional and government-oriented markets.
