Logos Faith Development Receives $500K Investment to Turn Church Properties into Affordable Housing
Logos Faith Development (LOGOS), a Los Angeles-based social impact real estate firm, has received a Program Related Investment of more than $500,000 from the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Foundation (RPDFF). The investment will support LOGOS in its mission to transform underutilized churches and adjacent lots into affordable housing for South Los Angeles communities.
The funding will go specifically toward pre-development efforts for a new 24-unit apartment complex. This forthcoming complex will offer 100% affordable housing, serving low-income households and Section 8 voucher holders in the historic South LA area. Construction for the project is expected to begin in 2026.
“We are honored to receive this funding and show of support and validation for LOGOS from such an iconic foundation,” said Pastor Martin Porter, founder and CEO of LOGOS. “We think this is the beginning of a great partnership between our two organizations to get into the breach and solve the lack of affordable housing in the region. Together is better!”
The investment signifies a growing recognition of holistic and community-centered housing solutions, particularly those rooted in the redevelopment of faith-based properties.
