Hut 8 Corp. is set to begin work next week on the Beacon Point data center campus in Nueces County, a large-scale digital infrastructure project with an estimated cost of $399 million. Plans call for a 657,130-square-foot facility that the company aims to bring online by November 2027, according to the project timeline described in public disclosures.
The development is located at 4650 FM 1694 in Robstown and is being positioned as a major new data center hub in the Corpus Christi area. Hut 8 describes Beacon Point as a 525-acre, AI-focused campus that is ultimately planned for up to 1 gigawatt of capacity, underscoring the project’s emphasis on high-density compute and large-scale infrastructure deployment.
Jacobs Project Management Co. has been identified as the design firm for the Beacon Point campus, reflecting its role in planning and coordinating the project. Hut 8 has also previously highlighted several key partners associated with Beacon Point, including American Electric Power and Vertiv Holdings Co., alongside Jacobs, indicating a lineup of infrastructure, design, and technology collaborators aligned with the buildout.
In addition to the development plans, Hut 8 has disclosed substantial long-term leasing activity tied to the campus. The San Antonio Business Journal reports that Hut 8 signed a 15-year lease valued at a minimum of $9.8 billion for 352 megawatts of capacity at Beacon Point with a single tenant. The company subsequently entered into a second 15-year lease for another 352 megawatts with the same tenant, bringing total contracted capacity at the campus to 704 megawatts.
Combined, these two long-duration leases at Beacon Point carry a reported total contract value of approximately $19.6 billion. While the identity of the tenant has not been disclosed, the scale and term of the commitments point to a significant, long-range user of the campus’s planned capacity. Project partners already named by Hut 8 for Beacon Point include American Electric Power, Vertiv Holdings Co., and Jacobs, which together are expected to support the delivery and operation of the large-format data center campus once development advances.
