**Horizon House to Break Ground on 33-Story West Tower in Seattle**
Horizon House is preparing to break ground on its highly anticipated 33-story West Tower, which will add 202 independent-living residences to its campus in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood.
Demolition of the existing West Wing will begin this month as the property is turned over to Andersen Construction, leading up to an official groundbreaking ceremony. The fully funded project, long in the planning stages, received its Master Use Permit in October. In November, Horizon House secured $600 million in tax-exempt revenue bonds to finance the development.
Once completed, the West Tower is set to become one of the tallest purpose-built senior living high-rises in the United States. Currently, 70 percent of the new apartments have already been pre-sold, signaling strong demand.
The project team includes Andersen Construction as the general contractor and Mithun as both architect and interior designer. Ziegler, a specialty investment bank focused on senior housing, supported the bond financing for the development.
