Plans to add a 6,200-seat amphitheater and a 175-foot Ferris wheel to the West Harbor entertainment district on the San Pedro waterfront have received a major boost. The Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners has certified the Final Subsequent Environmental Impact Report for the West Harbor Modification Project and formally approved the expansion.
The amphitheater, which will serve as a regional entertainment hub, is being developed in partnership with Nederlander Concerts, one of the nation’s leading independent concert promoters and venue operators. Programming at the venue will include concerts, cultural events, and other live performances at the LA Waterfront.
Eric Johnson, senior project executive for West Harbor, expressed appreciation for the input and support received during the planning process. “We appreciate all members of the community who took the time to make their voices heard. We are grateful that many have provided their support and expressed their enthusiasm for our plans to make West Harbor a must-visit destination and a regional economic driver,” Johnson said.
This significant development marks a key step forward in transforming the San Pedro waterfront into a vibrant entertainment and cultural destination.
