GE Appliances to Invest $3 Billion in U.S. Manufacturing Expansion

GE Appliances, a Haier company, announced plans to invest more than $3 billion over the next five years to enhance its operations, workforce, and community engagement throughout the United States. The company will focus on expanding its air conditioning and water heating portfolios, increasing production capacity across all product lines, and modernizing its 11 U.S.-based manufacturing facilities.

The first phase of this strategic investment will be implemented at manufacturing sites in Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina.

With this initiative, GE Appliances will bring its total U.S. investments to $6.5 billion since 2016, reinforcing its position as a major player in domestic manufacturing. This upcoming expansion represents the second-largest investment in the company’s history—surpassed only by the establishment of its global headquarters at Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky, in the 1950s.

“We are defining the future of manufacturing at GE Appliances by investing in our plants, people, and communities,” said Kevin Nolan, president and CEO of GE Appliances. “No other appliance company over the last decade has invested more in U.S. manufacturing than we have, and our $3-billion, five-year plan shows that our commitment to U.S. manufacturing will continue into the future.”
