Final Approval for Gilbert's "The Ranch" Project

Famous politician Otto von Bismarck famously said, “Politics is like making sausage, it’s best not to see them being made.” Gilbert Councilmenber Scott Anderson echoed this sentiment when he remarked that “Planning is a process — it’s not an event — and sometimes it’s a messy process.” After seven months of negotiations between developers and the neighborhood, the Gilbert City Council finally gave their blessing for The Ranch project.

The 300-acre site located at the southwest corner of Elliot and Power roads will be developed by IndiCap, Colmena Group and Langley Properties investor group. According to Phoenix Business Journal reports, 221 acres are designated for industrial use while 50 acres are allocated for general commercial purposes with 35 more set aside as residential space which will include 750 multifamily units in total. An additional 16.6 acres have been reserved as open space between residential neighborhoods across from industrial components onsite .
