BXP has executed a long-term lease renewal with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP at Madison Centre in downtown Seattle. The national law firm has committed to approximately 112,000 square feet on a 10-year term at the 760,000-square-foot workplace property. The renewed premises encompass the entirety of floors 29 through 33, maintaining the firm’s existing footprint in the building.
Davis Wright Tremaine, commonly known as DWT, has a longstanding presence at Madison Centre. The firm moved into the property in 2018 as the first anchor tenant and has opted to remain after evaluating alternative locations. According to the firm’s Seattle partner-in-charge, Wendy Kearns, DWT toured many other spaces before deciding to stay at Madison Centre.
DWT’s Seattle office is the largest of the firm’s nine locations and is home to more than 600 professionals. The renewal keeps this full-service office operation in downtown Seattle, with the firm continuing to occupy a substantial block of high-rise space in the tower.
Leasing representation for the transaction involved multiple brokerage teams. Davis Wright Tremaine was represented by Michael Finch and Michael Odegard of CenturyPacific, LLLP. On the ownership side, BXP was represented by Damon McCartney and David Greenwood of Broderick Group in the lease negotiations.
BXP characterized the renewal as a sign of ongoing demand for premier space in the city’s core office market. Kelley Lovshin, Vice President and Seattle Regional Director at BXP, stated that DWT’s decision to renew and invest in its space at Madison Centre highlights continued interest in high-quality workplaces in downtown Seattle.
The building, Madison Centre, is described as a workplace asset totaling 760,000 square feet in downtown Seattle. With DWT’s renewed commitment to floors 29 through 33, the tower retains a major professional-services tenant that has been integral to the property’s leasing story since it first opened to tenants.
