**Core Spaces Plans Georgia Tech Student Housing at Former Cheetah Club Site**
Core Spaces is moving forward with plans to redevelop a high-profile site in Atlanta, currently home to the former Cheetah Club, into new student housing for Georgia Tech. The developer has submitted a proposal to the city seeking permission to demolish the existing structure and build a 27-story residential tower, in partnership with Capstone Communities.
The proposed building, named Hub Spring Street, will contain more than 1,000 beds across 532 units. The unit mix will include a range of layouts, from studio apartments to six-bedroom units. In addition to residential space, the development will feature approximately 6,500 square feet of ground-floor retail.
Amenities for future residents will include a rooftop pool on the 27th floor and a hot tub located on the 26th floor, offering skyline views of Midtown Atlanta.
According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the project is expected to unfold over several years. The developers have indicated that a portion of the site—located at the intersection of Spring Street and 8th Street—will be reserved for a future phase, with details yet to be announced.
Due to the site’s close proximity to the Midtown MARTA station, the developers are not required to include any on-site parking in the current plans.
