CBRE has expanded its Mid-Atlantic leadership bench with two senior appointments focused on investor services and market-level execution. The firm has named Chris Poppell as managing director and investor services leader for the Mid-Atlantic, and Dawson Rinder as managing director and Maryland market leader. Both roles are designed to support the companys growth agenda across the region and deepen its client service capabilities.
Kyle Schoppmann, president of CBRE Mid-Atlantic, said the additions reflect the firms continued investment in the future of its Mid-Atlantic business. He cited the experience, leadership and client focus that Poppell and Rinder bring to the platform, noting that their contributions are expected to enhance how CBRE serves clients across the region while the firm continues to drive growth, invest in talent and expand its service offerings.
In his new position, Poppell will be responsible for helping to scale CBREs investor services business throughout the Mid-Atlantic. His mandate centers on coordinating and strengthening services delivered to investors, including institutional and other ownership groups active in the regional commercial real estate market. Before joining CBRE, Poppell served as director of investment real estate at George Washington University, where he was involved with managing and advancing the institutions real estate interests.
Rinder will oversee CBREs business operations and growth strategy in Maryland, aligning local initiatives with the broader Mid-Atlantic platform. His leadership role includes responsibility for driving the firms business performance in the state and supporting client relationships across asset types. Rinder previously served as managing director and market leader for Marcus & Millichaps Washington, D.C. office, where he oversaw the firms activities across Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
The appointments underscore CBREs focus on leadership depth in key regional markets and on reinforcing its investor-facing capabilities. By pairing a dedicated investor services leader for the broader Mid-Atlantic with a market leader specifically for Maryland, the firm is positioning its platform to respond to client needs at both the regional and local-market level. The moves also draw on prior institutional and brokerage experience, as Poppell transitions from a university investment real estate role and Rinder brings market leadership experience from another national brokerage.
CBREs Mid-Atlantic leadership team will look to integrate these new roles into existing operations as the firm continues to pursue growth, talent investment and service expansion in the region. While no transaction or asset-level details were disclosed with the appointments, the leadership changes highlight an organizational emphasis on coordinated coverage for investors and enhanced market execution in Maryland and the broader Mid-Atlantic footprint.
