Health system-driven on-campus expansion, with a national medical office owner collaborating, underscores continued institutional interest in purpose-built outpatient facilities despite limited disclosed capital detail.

Broward Health has started construction on a new medical office building at its Broward Health North campus, located at 201 East Sample Road in Deerfield Beach. The project marks a significant expansion of the health system’s outpatient footprint at this location.

The planned facility will rise six stories and encompass 127,033 square feet. The building is scheduled to open in 2027 and is described as one of Broward Health’s first major new construction projects in nearly three decades, signaling a notable physical plant investment for the system.

The design team for the project is led by The Beck Group in collaboration with DMZ Architects. Their program calls for an initial buildout of 75 exam rooms, with infrastructure in place to support a future expansion to 123 exam rooms as patient volumes and clinical needs evolve.

Clinical services planned for the building include cardiovascular, neuroscience and orthopedic care, along with additional specialty clinics. The facility will also accommodate affiliated physician practices, consolidating a range of outpatient and physician services in a single on-campus medical office environment.

Remedy Medical Properties, identified as a national outpatient medical real estate owner, is collaborating on the development. DPR Construction is serving as the general contractor, overseeing the construction of the new medical office building at Broward Health North.

The Broward Health North medical office building is one of two major medical office projects currently planned by the health system. In addition to the Deerfield Beach facility, Broward Health is planning a second medical office building, along with a parking garage, at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.

Together, the two planned medical office buildings represent a coordinated effort by Broward Health to expand and modernize its outpatient and physician space on key hospital campuses. The combination of a new purpose-built facility at Broward Health North and a future project at Broward Health Medical Center illustrates the system’s focus on enhancing access to specialty care and consolidating services in contemporary medical office environments.
