Bosch Rexroth has expanded its presence in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with a new $20 million facility at Lehigh Valley Industrial Park, where the company recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The global hydraulics manufacturer, headquartered in Germany, is adding this project to its long-established operations in the region, where it has maintained a footprint for nearly 60 years.
The new building spans 50,000 square feet and is designed as a warehouse supporting Bosch Rexroth’s hydraulics manufacturing campus in the Lehigh Valley. A key feature of the facility is the integration of automated storage and retrieval systems, which are expected to increase storage capacity by 50%. By centralizing and automating warehousing functions, the facility is intended to help streamline logistics and improve the efficiency of product handling linked to the company’s existing manufacturing operations.
Bosch Rexroth currently employs about 300 people at its existing Bethlehem location, where it designs and manufactures advanced hydraulic components and systems for industrial machinery. The added warehouse capacity is positioned to support these activities by enhancing material flow and inventory management within the broader campus.
The expansion was delivered through a team that included J.G. Petrucci Company, Inc. as the construction firm and Spillman Farmer Architects as the project designer. Their work brought the new logistics and storage facility online as part of Bosch Rexroth’s broader industrial hydraulics platform in North America.
Commenting on the investment, Erwin Wieckowski, President and CEO of Bosch Rexroth North and Central America, described the project as a reflection of the company’s confidence in its industrial hydraulics team in North America and in the local workforce in Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley. He also indicated that the investment underscores the company’s view that there is opportunity in the North American market.
With the facility now open, Bosch Rexroth’s Lehigh Valley hydraulics manufacturing campus gains additional warehousing and automation capabilities aimed at supporting long-term operational efficiency and reinforcing the company’s established regional base.
