Bandana, a job search platform focused on hourly and entry-level workers, has committed to new office space at The Refinery, part of the Domino Sugar Factory redevelopment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The company signed a 10,380-square-foot lease for a portion of the 14th floor at the Two Trees Management-owned property, bringing the office building to 90% leased.

Co-founder and CEO Tim Makalinao framed the move as aligned with Bandana’s mission of expanding economic opportunity for workers across the country. He noted that the transformation of the historic building into modern office space mirrors the platform’s goal of creating new avenues for upward mobility for everyday Americans.

The relocation will nearly double Bandana’s footprint compared with its current offices at 105 N. 13th St. The expansion underscores the company’s growth trajectory as it scales its services for hourly and entry-level job seekers nationwide.

JLL managing directors Valentin Stobetsky and Whitten Morris arranged the lease on behalf of Bandana. On the ownership side, Two Trees Management was represented in-house by Alyssa Zahler and Elizabeth Bueno in negotiating the transaction.

In a separate leasing move at The Refinery, Skylight, an operator of event spaces, expanded its premises by 11,000 square feet on the same 14th floor. With both Bandana’s relocation and Skylight’s expansion, the property continues to add tenants and consolidate occupancy within the broader Domino Sugar Factory redevelopment.

Together, the new lease and expansion highlight ongoing tenant interest in The Refinery’s office space within the larger mixed-use project, as users in both the technology-enabled services and events sectors grow or realign their footprints at the property.
