Avondale Medical, Housing, and Retail Project Approved

Avondale, a rapidly growing West Valley town, recently approved a large mixed-use commercial development called The District at Crystal Springs. Located on the southwest corner of McDowell Road and Avondale Boulevard, the project will include up to 268 townhomes on 23 acres; 216 units of multifamily housing for adults 55 years and older on 6 acres; 7 acres dedicated to retail or hotel development; and 8 acres allocated for construction of a hospital within the city’s designated health-technology corridor. Fifield and Sparrow Partners are spearheading this endeavor with Encompass Health leading hospital build efforts. Last month, after receiving positive recommendations from its planning commission, Avondale City Council granted rezoning approval for this ambitious project.
