Autodesk has renewed its commitment to the Innovation and Design Building in Boston’s Seaport neighborhood, extending its lease for approximately 72,000 square feet. The 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software and technology company has been a longstanding tenant at the property, and its latest renewal concludes a 12-month stretch in which the building recorded more than 225,000 square feet of leasing activity.
The Innovation and Design Building is owned by a joint venture of Related Beal and Jamestown. Over the past year, the ownership team has completed a series of renewals and expansions with a diverse tenant roster spanning technology, life sciences, media, and design-focused users.
Among the notable transactions, Ratio Therapeutics expanded its footprint at the property. The clinical-stage company, which is developing radiopharmaceuticals for cancer patients, increased its premises by approximately 17,000 square feet to a total of 36,000 square feet. The expansion reflects the company’s growing space needs within the building.
America’s Test Kitchen also chose to remain in place, renewing its lease for approximately 53,000 square feet. The food media and testing organization continues to anchor a sizable presence within the Innovation and Design Building, reinforcing the appeal of the Seaport location for creative and content-oriented users.
In addition, Elkus Manfredi Architects renewed its lease for approximately 47,000 square feet. The architecture firm, which has long been associated with design and planning work in major urban markets, is maintaining its space within the property, adding another significant renewal to the year’s activity tally.
Commenting on the leasing momentum, Erin Orpik, VP of commercial assets at Related Beal, said the agreements and renewals at the Innovation and Design Building highlight the strength of the building’s ecosystem and the ongoing partnership between Related Beal and Jamestown. Orpik noted that the property offers creative, flexible spaces that support tenant innovation, and emphasized that ownership is focused on finalizing deals that allow tenants to continue their growth within the building.
Together, the Autodesk renewal, Ratio Therapeutics expansion, and the lease renewals for America’s Test Kitchen and Elkus Manfredi Architects underscore the building’s role as a hub for technology, life science, media, and design users in Boston’s Seaport neighborhood, and mark the culmination of a year characterized by substantial leasing volume at the property.
