The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas has commenced construction on the Naskila Casino Resort in Leggett, a new large-scale hospitality and gaming destination located north of Houston. The project represents a significant expansion of the tribe’s gaming footprint on its land, following the operation of the existing Naskila Casino in Livingston.
The planned Naskila Casino Resort is designed at roughly 685,000 square feet on a 95-acre site of Alabama-Coushatta Tribal land. The resort program includes a substantial gaming floor, a 366-room hotel, multiple entertainment offerings, varied dining concepts, a resort-style pool complex, and dedicated event and conference facilities. The scale and mix of uses position the property as a full-service regional resort rather than a stand-alone gaming hall.
Development will proceed in phases, with the initial phase delivering a large portion of the resort’s entertainment and hospitality components. Phase one is expected to feature approximately 3,400 electronic bingo machines, underscoring the project’s focus on electronic gaming. Food and beverage offerings in the first phase will include restaurants, bars, lounges, and food hall concepts, creating multiple price points and experiences for visitors.
The meetings and events program is another key element of the initial rollout. The first phase will bring approximately 35,000 square feet of flexible event and conference space designed to accommodate group business and regional gatherings. A grand ballroom with capacity for about 1,000 people is also planned, supporting banquet, convention, and entertainment uses and adding a group-focused dimension to the resort’s revenue profile.
The Leggett resort follows the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas’s earlier gaming investment in Livingston, where Naskila Casino opened in 2016. According to the tribe, that property has generated an annual economic impact of $251.7 million, highlighting the broader economic significance of tribal gaming operations in the region. The new resort is positioned as a further build-out of that platform on tribal land.
Construction of the first phase of Naskila Casino Resort is scheduled to run over several years, with completion expected by the end of 2028. Once phase one is delivered, the resort is anticipated to operate as a multi-faceted hospitality, gaming, dining, and events destination serving customers from Leggett, the surrounding communities, and the broader area north of Houston.
