Frost Terrace, a 100% affordable community in Cambridge’s Porter Square, celebrated its opening. Developed by Capstone Communities and Hope Real Estate, the transit-oriented project provides 40 affordable housing units with a range of unit sizes including family-oriented options. 65% of Frost Terrace’s units are two- and three-bedroom apartments featuring electric heat pump systems, energy recovery ventilation as well as upcoming solar panels that earned multiple awards such as LEED Multifamily Midrise Gold. Financing for the project came from various sources including Rockland Trust, Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC), Cambridge Affordable Housing Trust (CAHT) and Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP). Celebrating this milestone event marks an important step towards providing more accessible housing to those who need it most in Porter Square.
